Fast Forward

Siouxsie And The Banshees continue their remarkable streak of bad luck with the news that John McGeoch will be out of action for their tour which opens this weekend.

McGeoch recently returned from a trip to Madrid suffering from nervous exhaustion. He is currently resting in hospital until doctors agree that he will be fit to resume live work.

Standing in for him, with a week’s notice, is Robert Smith of The Cure who toured with the Banshees in 1979 and is felt by the rest of the group to be the only person capable of taking on the task.

His first appearance with the band this time round will be on BBC-2’s "Old Grey Whistle Test" on Friday.
